Meta Tests AI-Powered Children’s Storytelling App Called StoryKit

Meta is piloting a new AI storytelling application called StoryKit, which generates personalized children’s stories complete with custom characters, settings, lessons, and music. The app was first identified in the App Store by 9to5Mac, and Meta later confirmed to TechCrunch that it is testing the product in select countries to gauge parental interest.

A Meta spokesperson described StoryKit as a creative tool designed to help parents craft personalized, imaginative storybooks for children, adding that the app includes AI safety filters, excludes social features, and is restricted to users 18 and older.

According to the app’s description, users can create a character by photographing a favorite toy or person, then define the story’s setting and select a thematic lesson, such as kindness, courage, or empathy, to be woven into the narrative.

The launch comes as Meta continues expanding its AI product lineup, following other recent AI-related features across its platforms. The company has faced scrutiny over some previous AI tools, though it says StoryKit is intended purely as a family-oriented creative app rather than a social or interactive feature.
